The 155,000-acre Pisgah Ranger District is one of three ranger districts that make up the Pisgah National Forest. The district lies south of Asheville and its crossed by the Blue Ridge Parkway. The mountainous Pisgah Ranger District ranges in elevation from 2,000 feet near the French Browad River to the 6,410-foot Richland Balsam Mountain. The Pisgah Ranger District office and visitor center are on U.S. 276 near Brevard.
