Chichagof Island, the second largest island in Southeast Alaska, covers around 2,100 square miles from seaside estuaries to alpine mountain peaks. It is home to a large population of brown (Grizzly) bears, countless bald eagles; and five species of salmon. It has over 200 miles of driveable roads, most connected to Hoonah, the island's largest community at almost 900 inhabitants.
